Anders Ilar from Gotheburg is known for his fantastic releases on Level-Records, Shitkatapult, Echochord, Narita and Audio.nl. Now he returns with a complete album on Level-Records… no that’s not correct, he bewitches us with his new album called “Sworn”. Anders is a poet and a scientist, he loves to play with different moods and musical styles, but he is always exert to keep one thing constant in his music: his warm and deep way to tell stories with his music. Sworn is a surprising and beautiful album with eight tracks. Eight tracks that all have to share the first place on the rostrum. Each track is different from IDM like parts over to Dub, Acid, Minimal, Chicago, Techno…. The fascinating thing about “Sworn” is its atmosphere. You know, the music of Sworn can only be rated with ten points and a big plus. But the atmosphere that this music disperses is nonesuch; from the first second when “Hillside” kicks off until the last seconds of the eleventh track called “Lakeside” there is something present. The style changes from track to track, and this is special, but this indescribable atmosphere is bewitching and won’t pass away even when you switch of the stereo. Without any doubt you can name “Sworn” an album that owns a message and a unique atmosphere. And even if it sounds hackneyed, this is music that takes you on a special journey, not just into sound….
