This is the first release of geyser-recordings label chief Riad Michael under his real name. This fact could be a kind of parable. Like without hiding behind a pseudonym, Riad also doesn’t hide its roots and his real impetus why he’s running this label: creating good music that make people dance, enjoy and smile!
On the Abaro EP you’ll get three wicked versions of a stunning dancetrack. But dancetrack isn’t maybe the right depiction of what happens there. This is intelligent dance music, and now its getting complicated, without name it IDM… Let’s try it like this:
Abaro is a track carried by a wonderful bassline and mesmerizing drumsounds changing their face like a chameleon. The melody of Abaro is a messenger, joyful and positive like the birds praising the sun in the morning. In the “background” of the track is a soundscape, and this is the thing I really love about Abaro, that changes its dramaturgy and its colours like watching an oncoming thundery front on an open field in the summer. Absolute unbelievable!
With Abaro Riad paints a wonderful picture and besides that he created one of my favourite dance tracks this summer!
