Some of you will say “No please, not the next 8-bit wonder!” But calm down “Desert Planet” from Finland releasing with Moonrocks their sixth album. These guys know what the do! “Moonrocks” is a statement, is art, dance music and fun. Known in the Micromusic/Chiptunes scene for their brilliant music and their marvellous live shows, Desert Planet bridges between different art forms and genres. “Moonrocks” is a  funny album that’s for sure, it captures perfectly the power of this group and generates a kind of live situation that comes directly out of your speakers. This is music made for nerds done by nerds… but aren’t we all nerds? I mean in our own special way? This album balances nerdism, art and a club feeling you haven’t had for such a long time. “Green Fireballs,“ “Spiral Run” or “Riot Sector 68” are good tracks to take a look inside the world of Desert Planet.  The kitschy unforgettable sound of the 80’s meet dark technoid sounds and in the end you can’t find a name for that what makes your feet move and your heart pound higher. A great album that proves that not all paths are walked, not every sound is played and each not combined with another. A funny and serious album with a nonesuch sound and atmosphere. So join the world of the nerds and see that this is the best one…
A must have album.
