Hell! This album touched my heart and destroyed my speakers for the second time in my life.
I know it sounds a little bit stupid but it seems that some of us had the same musical socialisation from funk to metal and then straight to hip hop and rave music…
Sadly that in nowadays Grindcore and metal music became a kind of outdated attitude. Just old bikers with leather bitches and old drug heads listen to this music….!
Wrong, definitely wrong. The spirit of this music still lives on and on. Sometimes you’ll find people listening to this music you won’t have expected it from.
After the glorious vinyl release of Bong Ra’s “Grindkrusher” and “Sick Sick Sick” on Ad Noiseam about three years ago, people realised that Bong Ra or better say Jason Köhnen had his roots in the Grindcore and Metal scene of the Netherlands in the late Eighties. Later he became on of the most important artists in the breakcore and electronica scene. Restless and visionary he decided in 2005 with the release of “Grindkrusher” to break down musical boundaries.
With this disturbing mix of electronica and guitar thunder he bridges two genres that normally won’t fit. These two pieces of vinyl became kind of a classic right from the first second they were born.
Now with the cd release of “Full Metal Jacket” you get the chance to get these absolute stunning tracks. The energy of this album is disturbing and inspiring. You can use these tracks to burn down the house. But you can also listen to them carefully and you will find out that this music owns a special secret besides the wall of noise.
Intelligent music created by one of the biggest one in the bizz..
Don’t miss it.
