You know about this kind of albums that you put in your stereo and right after the first seconds you know that this album is a special one?          

Toniko’s new album called Epoch is one of these very special albums. A mixture of drum and bass, idm and breakbeat blasts out of your loudspeakers. Energy! But carefully and tastefully produced and arranged. A real high wire act. Because most producers are forget about the fact that you need enough “fuel” when you turn down the gas pedal for fourteen tracks.

The atmosphere of “Epoch” is breathtaking! Tracks like “Salvo Infitium” or the great opening track “Running as fast I can” are so energetic and intensive that the won’t get out off your head. Or take “Dark River” an IDM track that takes the listener deep into the rapids! Talking about a “head movie” wouldn’t be enough for such an intensive and beautiful album, a “head theatre” sounds in my opinion more poetic and describes the fragile beauty of this record. Fourteen tracks with a powerful and warm atmosphere…. and a nonesuch forward driving sound.
