The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation - Doomjazz Future Corpses!Artist:The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation Title:Doomjazz Future Corpses! Label:adnoiseam Cat:adn81 Release:5th June 2007 Format:CD Distr:adnoiseam http://www.adnoiseam.net I am honest, when I was in my twenties I listened to electronic music AND to hardcore music. Wearing a black cross on the back of my hand… Maybe a splitted personality. But the point is, that in these days for me the power of music, the dramatic in a musical piece was carried by the scream or better say the shouts of the singer, the double bass and the chaos on stage. The rage was expressed by the power of the music. The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation prove with “Doomjazz Future Corpses!” that power in music can be in a different way. The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation is the alter ego of the Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble a Jazz ensemble formred by Jason Kohne aka Bong-Ra with the goal creating dark and mightful downbeat jazz. Creating free form soundtracks for silent films like “Nosferatu” or “Metropolis” make clear where the journey goes. Now with the release of a live session which took place February 2007 in Amsterdam is a testimonial of power . This session pulls down all musical boundaries with its combination of slowness and power. Doom metal Jazz celebrated with cello, guitar, saxophone and trombone. No hectic beats destroy this atmosphere that weights a ton. But the heaviness of the music isn’t bone-crushing for the listener, it owns an dark atmosphere but its not that kind of darkness that makes you fly. This music owns an atmosphere, which is kind of scary, but you can’t look away. Fascinating! Each note, each sound gets his time. The music explores the space and starts a journey… in the head of the listener. The rules of classic jazz are abrogated by the nonesuch way this music is performed. Absolute fascinating and breathtaking… Doomjazz rules!
