Eightcubed is one-man show from Canada; no I used the wrong words, a fascinating groundbreaking one-man show. With his debut called “simpledance” he proves to us that really everything is possible. Dance meets Industrial; Aphex Twin meets a Kindergarten on Acid, genius and childish easiness. What a great mixture! This debut isn’t a high gloss production; no you can hear sometimes the bedroom production. But this is one of the reasons what “Simpledance” is a great album, because passes on all this high tech glitter and the music stands in the foreground. The simplicity of the tracks makes way for the listener to open his ear and heart for the music. So with each beat and note you will come to the conclusion that something great is happening here. Simpledance is a real good title because it doesn’t conceal the content. Simple doesn’t mean bad, tracks like “Sunrise” , “Frantically Speaking” or “Pay My Bell Bill” are fireworks, great simple dance music with so many hidden treasures AND a lot of wit!
A great record, a great artist which should keep his faith in music, I am sure that we will hear more from “Eightcubed”!
Great debut from a "simple" genius.
