Think about that for a minute before I tell you something about a very personal and special album. Have we spoken, touched, listened enough before we say goodbye?

I am not sure if this was intention of Donnacha Costello, hailing from Ireland, when he created the music and the title for his new album called “Before We Say Goodbye”, but these were my thoughts after listen to this absolute stunning and wonderful album. This album doesn’t need words for personal story telling it uses fragments and citations of UK Ambient, Chicago House and Detroit Techno as words. Donnacha’s very own style of keeping the balance between dance and conceptual headphone music is nonesuch. When it comes to this point – merging these two different worlds – the wheat separates from the chaff. Donnacha is a magician and a story teller by using his musical skills and his heart. Warmth and melancholy, laid-back and dance… abrogated antagonisms in his music.
This album is a big one, full off emotions, stories and great moments combined to a wonderful dance and listen album. Maybe one of the secrets behind the beauty of this album ist the fact that Donnacha just used software for the drums, all instruments are vintage synths without Midi. So he played each layer in realtime…
